Healthy soil is full of biology, and contains in excess of 10,000 species of life, crossing at least 7 types of life. Sometimes called Living Soil or Soil Food Web, the full spectrum soil ecosystem includes bacteria, fungi, archaea, beneficial nematodes, amoeba, flagellates and micro-arthropods. Often it has other types of life, including animals (earthworms) and it may contain diatoms and other algae, phages and other types of protozoa.
