Peter Hirst

Peter Hirst, Director of Co-composted Product Development, Co- Founder, has a diverse career in energy and natural resources. He spent 20 years at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and then in private firms advising and representing clients at FERC and the California Public Utilities Commission, among other agencies. Today, he is a nationally recognized leader in biochar and related agricultural activities, as a principal contribution author to The Biochar Revolution. Peter has been a guest speaker at every domestic biochar conference since 2009. Peter has been opening speaker at a Northeast Biochar Symposium, President of the Northeast Biochar association, and has consulted on biochar projects in Chile, Hawaii, Canada and Indonesia. He has trained in Holistic Management with the Savory Institute and received his Permaculture Design Certificate studying directly with Albert Bates at the Ecovillage Training Center at The Farm in Summertown, Tennessee.
